As part of the European Day of Languages celebrations, Routes into Languages Cymru would like to invite you to the launch of their National Spelling Bee Competition 2015/16 at Cardiff Central Library.

This will be the 7th year that the competition has run in Wales and it continues to grow in popularity. The spelling competition runs in French, German, Spanish and Welsh 2nd language and encourages year 7 pupils to learn up to 200 words in these languages.

The official launch will take place at 11am on the 5th floor of the library. Come and meet the Routes Cymru team and some of last year’s competition winners! Registrations for 2015/16 will be open on the day.  You can also register online by clicking here.

The launch will be part of a larger programme of events planned throughout the library by Europe Direct Cardiff including music, storytelling, children’s activities, Minecraft drop-in sessions, displays and stands from various organisations.

Among those attending are The Cardiff Nantes Fellowship, Club de Francais, The Italian Cultural Centre Wales and Cardiff Youth Council who are planning a children’s fayre to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the twining of Cardiff and Stuttgart.

The event will take place throughout Cardiff Central Library on Saturday 26th September, from 11.00-4.00pm
